Position Summary

The SVP of Financial Services is a key executive leadership role responsible for driving strategic oversight and operational management of the company’s financial services partnerships and internal financial services entities. This individual will oversee and unify all mortgage-related operations, manage existing joint ventures and/or preferred lender relationships with mortgage companies, lead the internal title companies, and evaluate future strategic partnership opportunities. A vital liaison across business units, this leader will build and sustain trusted relationships with internal stakeholders, external lending partners, and division leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide executive leadership for all mortgage and title-related operations across the organization.
  • Manage and optimize performance of existing joint ventures and/or preferred lender relationships with mortgage providers.
  • Develop and implement unified strategies for mortgage-related activities across all divisions.
  • Directly manage acquisition and pricing of mortgage incentives and rate buydown programs, in conjunction with divisional leadership, for all company operations.
  • Lead and oversee internal title companies to ensure profitability, efficiency, compliance, and alignment with corporate objectives.
  • Evaluate and recommend future joint venture and strategic partnership opportunities in the mortgage and financial services space.
  • Collaborate with Division Presidents and Area Presidents as well as other regional leaders to ensure local alignment and execution of financial services initiatives.
  • Cultivate and maintain strong relationships with external lenders, financial institutions, and service providers.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and industry regulations.
  • Monitor financial performance, reporting metrics, and key performance indicators (KPIs) across all financial services lines of business.
  • Represent the company at industry events, conferences, and joint venture board meetings.

 

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Real Estate, or a related field required. Master’s degree (MBA or equivalent) preferred.
  • Minimum of 15 years of experience in the homebuilding industry in mortgage operations, financial partnerships, or affiliated businesses.
  • Proven success in managing and scaling joint ventures, especially with mortgage or title companies.
  • Exceptional strategic thinking, financial acumen, and business development skills.
  • Strong knowledge of mortgage lending regulations, processes, and practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to build and manage cross-functional relationships and influence without direct authority.
  • Excellent leadership, negotiation, and communication skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel at least 50% of the time.
