Ward Communities is looking for an entry-level Apprentice Field Superintendent in the construction of new homes.  Ideal candidates will demonstrate a "can-do" attitude as well as a genuine willingness to learn about the home building industry.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Complete tasks as directed by the job site Superintendent
  • Assist in managing projects from start to finish
  • Assist in managing productivity on site so that the project is completed safely, on time and within budget
  • Ensures compliance with building codes, safety guidelines and quality standards.
  • Develop an understanding of construction skills, terminology and methodology
  • Assist in the supervision of all subcontractors to clean up their work site at the end of the work day
  • Help to prep houses for all quality inspection walks 
  • Monitor and maintain the Home Models as needed and report their condition to the job site Superintendent
  • Miscellaneous job duties such as paint touch ups, caulking, wash and/or sweep down exteriors and garages, clean up trash inside models and maintaining job site signs
  • Perform minor repairs as needed
  • Manage site visits
  • Provide assistance to other team members as and when needed

Work Hours and Benefits: The Apprentice Field Superintendent position is a Full Time, 40 hour per week, 8 hour per day position, Monday - Friday.  There may be occasional times that you would need to work more than 40 hours per week or work on weekends as needed.  Benefits include:

Qualifications and Skills: 

  • Possess a basic knowledge of residential construction
  • Be able to read, write, speak and understand the English Language
  • Handles the physical demands of the job, including standing, walking, and sitting for long periods, and lifting 50+ pounds.
  • Must have a valid Driver's License
