GLW is currently seeking an experienced Civil Engineer/ Civil Project Engineer (PE). Candidates should be proficient in AutoCAD and Civil 3D design as it pertains to site design such as grading, storm water management (SWM), Storm Drain, Erosion & Sediment Control (ESC), and water & sewer design.

Our civil engineers, land planners, landscape architects, and surveyors provide planning, design, and construction phase services for a wide range of projects throughout central Maryland. Projects include: office, commercial, retail centers, industrial, residential communities, institutional facilities as well as mixed-use urban projects.
Civil Project Engineer Responsibilities
- Hands-on design and management of land development projects in the areas of site layout, storm drain design, storm water management, sediment and erosion control, water & sewer and dry utilities
- Team coordination and completion of land development plans
- Interact with clients, contractors, and reviewers
- Preparation of feasibility studies and review of local codes and agency regulations with respect to site permits, approval processes and timelines
- Preparation of hydraulic/hydrologic water modeling and floodplain studies
- Candidates should have the ability to manage multiple projects, schedules, and County reviews
- Utilize AutoCAD and Civil 3D to develop design concepts and plans in the following areas: site layout, water, sewer mains, roads, erosion and sediment control plans, floodplain studies and grading plans
- Provide assistance to other staff in order to accomplish company goals and objectives
Civil Project Engineer Job Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering; PE preferred, but not required
- 3-10+ years of relevant experience
- Ability to work independently as well as in a group
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel
- Excellent Verbal and Written Communication
- Local candidates preferred; visa sponsorship not available
- Proficiency in recent versions of AutoCAD required– Civil 3D a plus
