Basic Function:

Assist in the administration and coordination of the programs and activities of the Home Builders Care Foundation, Inc., the official affiliated charity of MBIA.

Specific Responsibilities:

  1. Assists the HBCF Executive Director and the HBCF Board of Directors in the due diligence review of potential charitable projects and partnering nonprofit organizations. Some local travel may be required.
  2. Helps promote HBCF to the community – including the building industry, MBIA members, nonprofit organizations and local community leaders.
  3. Assists the ED in the planning and coordination HBCF fundraising activities and events.
  4. Helps manage HBCF community outreach programs, including the solicitation, coordination and use of volunteer contributions.
  5. Supports the ED in the management of the Maryland Center for Housing, a wholly-owned subsidiary of HBCF.
  6. Works with ED to prepare and distribute HBCF Board of Directors meeting minutes and materials. Attends HBCF board meetings.
  7. Provides staff support to the HBCF Board of Directors and its Committees and helps coordinate all actions arising out of such meetings.
  8. Helps maintain official administrative records and reports of the Foundation. 

Internal Relationships:

Reports to the HBCF Foundation Director. Works closely with the HBCF Board of Directors and its elected leadership. Works with MBIA Communications and Government Affairs staff on HBCF public relations activities. As a staff member of MBIA, some work with other MBIA staff on additional events may occur.

External Relationships:

Helps build rapport within the community. Has regular contact with representatives of charitable organizations, government agencies, program partners, donors and members of the building industry association.

Part-Time Exempt Employee.

20 hrs/week. Some schedule flexibility may be required.

Skills Required:

Bachelor’s Degree Preferred. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and familiarity with social media. Nonprofit, marketing or business management skills a plus. Hybrid work environment.
